Studentersamfunnet is the meeting point for students actively engaged in society, culture and politics. Hosts lectures and debates.

Most of the meetings are held at the student culture house Det Akademiske Kvarter. Activities are organized by five committees:

  • Aktuelt (Topical): breakfast meetings about current affairs (Tuesdays)
  • Upop (Popular Science): popular science themed events (Tuesdays)
  • Kultur (Culture): events related to philosophy, cultural phenomena, etc (Wednesdays)
  • Debatt (Debate): panel discussions on social policy issues (Thursdays) 
  • Helhus (Whole House): 2-3 times per semester meetings, concernts, exhibitions, quizzes and more occur at Kvarteret (Saturdays)
The meetings are organized by volunteer members. Some of the events are held in English. Entrance is free for members (NOK 50 for a semester membership).


International student volunteers welcome, basic Norwegian is recommended.
